The true magic of the holiday season is most evident in the moments we share with family, friends and neighbors. In the spirit of building a stronger community, Related Midwest hosted a holiday event last weekend for residents of Circle Park Apartments on Chicago’s Near West Side. Residents filled the community center for a party filled with treats, fun and family portraits with Santa. The 28th ward’s Alderman, Jason Ervin, also stopped by the festivities to celebrate.
Every December, Related hosts a holiday party at a Related Affordable property. This year’s event featured hot chocolate, sweet treats, holiday gifts and more, with dedicated sessions for both seniors and children.
In partnership with CHIGivesBack, Related Affordable Foundation organized a gift giveaway, providing a present to each child in attendance. This year’s presents included basketballs, wireless headphones and LED vanity mirrors for teens; art kits, game sets, footballs and Barbie dolls for kids ages 6-12; and sensory balls, trucks and blocks for the youngest children. The giving spirit touched everyone, with adults receiving a blanket, mug and tote bag.

Their efforts not only created a memorable event but also helped cultivate connections that will endure all year long.
