Construction management, architecture and design are historically male-dominated industries. In fact, just 10.9% of the construction workforce nationally are women, and women make up only 22.3% of the architecture field. At Related Midwest, we believe representation matters. When women have more opportunities to have a seat at the table, job sites are more diverse. Unique points of view lead to designs that are more inclusive. That’s why we’ve made inclusion a priority for years.
From affordable and historic renovations to new high rises, women in construction are creating an impact that will last for generations here in Chicago and beyond. Some of the women we work with have been with us for more than 20 years, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise and making them ideal mentors for new women joining Related in these roles.
