This Veterans Day, Related Midwest remembers those who have and continue to serve our country, and we are proud to support community efforts honoring our local heroes.
Together with PsiQuantum and Chicago Quantum Constructors, Related Midwest raised funds for the restoration of the Vietnam Veterans mural at 91st and Brandon in South Chicago. Located just a few blocks from Quantum Shore, the mural was originally painted in the early 1980s by local artist Marcos Raya and a group of Vietnam veterans, paying tribute to 12 young men from the neighborhood who lost their lives during the Vietnam War.
Special thanks are due to the American Legion South Deering Post 1238, which led the fundraising campaign for this long-awaited restoration, as well as 10th Ward Alderman Peter Chico, whose dedication ensured this neighborhood landmark will remain a lasting source of pride and remembrance.
This project reflects the power of collaboration in celebrating our shared history. The refurbished Vietnam Veterans mural will sustain the legacy of South Chicago’s proud veterans and we are grateful to have played a role in telling their stories for generations to come.
