8080 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive

8080 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive is a 400-acre master plan being developed by a joint venture of Related Midwest and CRG in South Chicago. The project’s first phase will be anchored by the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park, a 128-acre quantum campus that will be constructed on the southern end of the site through a public-private partnership with the state of Illinois with anchor tenants PsiQuantum and IBM. The northern end of 8080 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive will be anchored by a new state-of-the-art Advocate Health Care Hospital. 8080 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive is located on the former U.S. Steel South Works site along the Lake Michigan shoreline, one of the largest contiguous infill waterfront properties in the country.

Project Overview

Located in Historic South Chicago

8080 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive is situated along the Lake Michigan shoreline, near the mouth of the Calumet River. The site previously housed the U.S. Steel South Works plant, which closed in 1992. The new campus is within walking distance of the Metra Electric 87th Street station, served by CTA bus routes and close to the Chicago Skyway and other major thoroughfares. It also provides access to multimodal transportation infrastructure serving the Illinois International Port District.

Illinois Quantum & Microelectronics Park

The Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park (IQMP) is a first-of-its-kind park for quantum related and advanced microelectronics research and development. The park is designed to support the full ecosystem of companies, researchers, suppliers, end users and other partners working to facilitate the development and commercialization of quantum technologies, including the world's first fault-tolerant computer.

Project Overview

PsiQuantum

PsiQuantum will be an anchor tenant of the IQMP, making Illinois the nation's leader in quantum. PsiQuantum is a quantum computing company on a mission to build and deploy the world's first useful quantum computer. Their approach to building a utility-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer involves photonics-based architecture and it leverages existing infrastructure to build and scale these systems as fast as possible.

National Quantum Algorithm Center

IBM will bring a new National Quantum Algorithm Center to the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park. This groundbreaking center will aim to advance the exploration of quantum centric supercomputing across industries, furthering Illinois' status as the nation's leader in quantum.

Project Overview

Advocate Health Care

The northern end of 8080 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive will be anchored by Advocate Health Care, which is building a new state-of-the-art $300 million, 53-bed hospital on 23 acres. Advocate's investment and commitment will add 1,000 new employees and catalyze future investment that brings complementary uses to the development, the 7th Ward and the surrounding South Chicago neighborhoods.

The development team will expand and enhance access to over 100 acres of parkland. This will encompass improved connectivity to Steelworkers Park, Park 566 and the lakefront, a new recreational path along the Calumet River and South Slip, and a new park that will wrap both sides of the North Slip and celebrates the site's historic ore walls.
